choosing and fitting a new toilet

by trevors50uk » Mon May 07, 2007 4:53 pm

I want to remove an old toilet in a downstairs cloakroom and replace it with a new one. The old one has a vertical waste outlet into the floor which may be an imperial size (house built late 70's). Are there new toilets with vertical waste outlet or do I have to buy a horizontal type and use accessories to couple the toilet to the waste in the floor? The hole in the floor is 12 inches from the back wall.

I presume that the old toilet is'nt close coupled Trevor. Fine if you are aiming to fit a similar WC.
Plenty of adaptors to convert to a vertical outlet but the 12 inch gap to the wall is a problem. Can you box out the wall to suit?
