Cleaning grout

Has anybobody got any good tips for cleaning the tile grout in the bathroom? I was thinking of using a knife to scrape out the old grout then regrouting afterwards.

Depends on the type of grout, if its the ready mixed stuff it can be scraped out. If its the cementious stuff you will need to hire a vibrating disc machine to remove it.

Problem with grout is its porousity. While ceramic tiles are easy to wipe clean, the dirt oftentimes finishes up being wiped into the grout.

You could try using bleach applied with a small brush and scrubbed into the grout. I know people who have used this method with some success. It really depends upon how bad the grout is.
