I've removed an old rayburn (type) fire, the previous owner had been using it - though the chimney was almost entirely blocked. As a result the brickwork is very sooty. I'd like to put a multifuel stove in its place but want to clean the bricks first.
Ive scrubed the bricks with a wire brush and with warm soapy water and ALOT of elbow grease! but without much success. Would acid brick cleaner for removing concrete stains work? and any other suggestions?
Mant thanks,
