Complete Renewal of Dostic HW & CH

by Johannes » Tue Dec 13, 2011 2:36 pm

Hello All, Does anyone know of a design service? I live in a long bungalow & want to install a megaflow cylinder so that I can have hot water at mains pressure even in my upstairs extension. I also want to change the CH to a two zone system so that the granny annex can be heated separately from the rest of the property. I want to bring all pipes into rooms from the loft space.

Regards John

Whatever you do, consider bringing the pipes inside the comfort zone, by perhaps having a false ceiling down the hall.
Pipes that are in the roof are liable to freeze, most pipe insulation is useless and the hot pipes bleed heat into the roof, better that heat is retained in the home.
It is easier to do a good insulation job on a loft floor without pipes.
Keep in mind that most people hate seeing bare pipes dropping down their walls, try to hide them.
