Concrete hard standing for Horses?

Hi I need to prepare a hard standing gateside in two of my fields to take the weight of 3 half ton Horses. Can you help me with the best way of preparing this once I have dug out the footing area. I think I need to go down at least 18 inches. Btw I'm on clay and it gets very boggy?
