connecting 2 tiolets to soil pipe

Post by eddie » Thu Sep 27, 2007 7:30 am

I doing two bathrooms, which are back to back, the toilets I was hoping to run into the same length of soil pipe before it goes out of the wall into the main stack

what minmum distance is recomended between toilets so as not to get back flush problems should both be flushed at the same time

The soil has approx 20mm drop from 1st tiolet to outside wall and is approx 1m long

cheers

i think so long as the waste outlet from the toilets are not facing each other when entering the soil pipe you should be fine

I was wanting to put the toilets back to back but staggered ,so that the soil comming from the other toilet connecting ,into the soil pipe that runs from the other toilet will have a distance of about 500mm apart

If the toilets are offset by 500mm there is no problem at all. Even if they are exactly behind one another MacAlpine Waste systems make a fitting known as a rat-valve which is produced to overcome exactly the problem of back-to-back toilets. Every plumber's merchant has a copy of their catalogue.
