Consumer box
I want to put a consumer box in the garage to feed the garden and a outside security light. I have a mains socket already in there can I take the live feed of this for the consumer box?
Under Part P of the building regulations is almost certain you would be deemed to be installing a new circuit. Firstly this new circuit connection would depend on the type of earthing system you have at the property and secondly it would need to be installed or at least tested and certified by a Part P qualified electricain. Please seek the advice of the building control department of your local council.
