    cooker hob help

    Postby wheredoesthisgo » Thu Nov 22, 2007 7:59 pm

I disconnected my old hob, and cannot fit the wires into the new one, they are to big.
The old one has cooker type cable, the live and the neutral have five or six strands, and a single earth wire.

the new one has six connectors joined together, three live, two neutral, and one earth.

is it safe to join a thinner cable to the existing one through a junction box and if it is, what size/type should it be.
