Covering a water well with glass

We have just uncovered a water well in our garden, and we would like to make a feature of it by covering it with a walk-on glass panel. I am having difficulty finding much help on Google. Does anyone have any clues they could give us?

Visit your local glazing merchant and expect them to recommend you use 20mm laminated glass.
