Cracked Tile In New Shower - Should I get it replaced

by daintya » Mon Nov 03, 2008 9:28 pm

I've just had a bathroom retiled and have just noticed there is a cracked tile at the bottom of the shower where the shower door meets the wall, basically it looks like he has overtightened when fixing the door frame to the wall. Should I be worried, is water likely to seep in over time and cause the tiles to blow? Is it unreasonable to ask him to remove the shower door and replace the cracked tile? I think he has noticed the crack as the sealant on the inside covers the crack which is a couple of inches above the shower tray.

Any advice appreciated before I tackle the plumber.

Thanks. Alan

yes, get him to replace the tile. if water gets in behind then the tile is going to come loose. and will do damage to the wall behind the tile.
