Cracks in external brickwork of bungalow

    Postby houseseller » Sun Aug 29, 2010 2:27 pm

We have a bungalow and after we moved in we noticed cracks at either end of it that our surveyor had missed. Basically the cracks start from just above the dampcourse up to the gables and go hairline along the mortar of the gables (but not right to the ends) the cracks are bigger at the bottom and tail of to the top adn are horizontal also going through some of the bricks. Im so worried that they could be dangerous, anyone have any ideas, thanks

    houseseller,
Hairline cracks are unlikely to be problem, get your surveyor back and get him to explain what is causing the problem and why he did not mention it in the report.
    end

For your assistance, I have seen & witnessed 8 cracks none larger than a £1.

The net result, it was agreed that the building should be demolished.

    The Insurance paid.

    Try and Google: "theexpertengineer.co.uk"

    Hope that helps
