Cuiruits for loft

by misterg » Mon Jul 23, 2007 5:43 pm

Hi

If I do a loft conversion, should I get a separate ring main and lighting circuit? Or can these be powered of the existing first floor circuits.

Also I was told you need a mains controlled smoke alarm. if you do a conversion Does this have to have its own MCB in the fusebox or can it come off an existing circuit.

Not planning to add new circuits myself :-).

Cheers

YOU COULD RUN A SUB MAIN CABLE FROM MAINS BOARD ON ITS OWN MCB. THEN WHEN TIME COMES HAVE 2 WAY CU IN LOFT 4 20A
RADIAL CIRCUIT AND 6 A LIGHTING.
THE SMOKE ALARM SHOULD BE INTERDEPENDANTLY LINKED WITH ALL THE OTHERS IN THE HOUSE WITH A 3 CORE.
