Hi

does anyone have any recommendations for bending a facia board to provide a finish to the decking I have built

the decking is raised about 200 mm from the path which curves round it (1m radius) and the decking is cut to match its curve, I now need to attached a facia type board out of same or similar wood to hide the joists etc but would like it to follow the curve for a good finish

any suggestion much appreciated !

THIS IS QUITE A TIGHT RADIUS BUT IT MAY BE ACHIEVABLE IF THE BACK OF THE LENGTH OF DECKING BOARD/S IS SAWN/NOTCHED AT REGULAR INTERVALS TO EFFECTIVELY REDUCE BOARD THICKNESS AND INNER RADIAL LENGTH ENABLING IT TO BE BENT TO CONFORM WITH THE CURVE OF THE DECK EDGE.
OR
IF THE RADIUS PROVES TO BE TOO TIGHT FOR THIS METHOD, THEN USE A BOARD THAT HAS BEEN REDUCED IN THICKNESS BY RUNNING IT THROUGH A PLANER MILL (ASK FOR THIS TO BE MACHINED AT LOCAL TIMBER YARD OR JOINERY WORKSHOP).
OR
12mm EXTERIOR PLY OR A SHEET METAL FACIA MAY BE YOUR REQIREMENT (ALUMINIUM OR STAINLESS STEEL).

If you can't get them to bend horizontally then you could consider having vertical boards attached at the top and bottom.
