    damaged veneer?

    Postby mouse » Thu May 24, 2007 11:26 pm

    please help if you can:

the bare wood surface of an internal door i am hanging has swollen due to contact with water.
the surface is a thin (1.5mm) veneer or lamina and now has what looks like an air pocket about the size of a thumbnail.

what can i do to flatten the surface?

99.9% of teh time you can do nothing about it Mouse but there is 1 very small chance that if you lay put a damp cloth on it then presss with a hot iron it may go down. Its not likely and if it does go down it may not stay there because the adhesive has become useless after getting wet but it might be worth a go/.
