Damp in corner of bedroom

by Laura Jane » Thu Feb 26, 2009 7:24 pm

I have a large damp patch in the corner of the bedroom, one wall is internal and one wall external. It started off as a small circle above the picture rail on the external wall which turned white but it has become larger and spread out, now the whole corner is damp and is growing white 'fluffy' mould, it is also travelling down the wall where the walls meet. The wardrobes are against the internal wall (5cm gap) and the clothes are now starting to get damp. I have tried to clean it off but it keeps growig back (as predicted) and sometimes has black mould also.
Any suggestions?[/b]

Laura Jane,
We really need more information, if your property is pre WW2 have a look outside for leaking or broken gutters. If it is post WW2 have a look and see if the roof is intact.
