    Damp Skirting Boards

    Postby Cara » Fri Jan 21, 2011 2:05 pm

Our washing machine was leeking and although it has been fixed now the skirting board sitting behind it got wet and now the wall just about it is wet. Will they dry out on their own or should I treat it? If so, how?

    Hi

Better having skirting boards replaced, timber will hold moisture, will start to dry out but as this area does not get a lot of fesh air, wood that dries out came some times lead to wet or worse dry rot forming - easier just to renew.
