damp

we have damp on the internel chimney breast wall and we have found out that the owner of the property before us has blocked it with rubble and cement from the floor in the living room up to dado rail height in the bedroom can anyone help with advice on removal please :cry:

Hi Its a easy one you need abuilder to open up the fireplace and remove all the rubble . once its been removed rebrick the opening and replaster with a suitable plaster.please ensure that a air brick is installed to help dry out the chimney breast. cost wise i say about £500 including removal of rubbish.
