more questions

can a 12 volt 300 miliamp dc transformer damage a 12volt water pump which is supposed to run off car batter voltage? the water pump does not have ohms on it so i can't work out the amps.

if this pump is switched on for upto 10 minuites, is it possible that @ 12 volts and 300 miliamps the coils could be damaged for not working on full amps?

The pump is designed to fit inside a barrel which contains around 5 gallons. So at 10 LPM maximum running time would be around 3 minutes. I used these pumps some years ago and I burnt quite a few out.

Running out of water with a pressure switch to control switching pump on and off was the first problem as with no water it just kept running.

The second was the water freezing although pump was in water it could not pump it anywhere again burnt out.

They work well when used as designed but they are made to fit through the filler cap on the aquarole and are not designed for long use. I used a 8 amp power supply for all caravan electrics and this worked all lights and pumps without a battery and once I fitted an isolator for pump so it could not run when I was not there I lost no more pumps but other users even lost pumps because the pipe had come off so again pressure switch did not turn off so it spent day circulating water in the aquarole so clearly they can't be used for an extended time.
