Delay in Shower pump initiating

by stanners73 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 6:13 pm

I installed a Salamander RSP75 pump to supply water to a valve in my bathroom where i can then select to use either a shower, the bath or a handset unit. This was done about 18 months ago and everything has been fine until recently where we've noticed a drop in the pressure as well as a delay in the pump turning on when we operate it. The supplies to the pump weren't done as recommended as i teed off the hot water pipe coming from the hot water cylinder and the same with the cold water supply coming down from the tank. I also had to put in a check valve on the hot water outlet from the pump as at first it was 'hunting'. I've cleaned the filters to the pump but now am at a complete loss as the problem is gradually getting worse. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

Does the mixer valve have filters fitted? They often do.
