Dimmable Intermediate Swtch?

by Andydg » Wed Nov 05, 2008 4:51 pm

I have a lighting circuit switched at 3 points and therefore have two 'slave' switches and one intermediate switch. I wish to put a dimmer into the circuit, while I can replace one of the slaves with a dimmer and all works fine I actually need the dimmer at the intermediate switch position. It would appear that you cannot buy a dimmable intermediate switch... is this the case? If so it means rewiring to move the intermediate which is p[robably not worth the effort.

Hi you assume correctly you can't have a dimable intermediate switch, you could of course fit one in place of either one of the 2 ways,
