Direct Comination Tank

I have just replaced a Direct Combination cylinder and re-instated the hot water feed but I am not getting any water from any of the hot water taps downstairs just a faint trickle, is there a solution that I am missing please....Do I need to Connect the cold water mains to the hot taps to clear any Air Locks???

I would imagine this is airlocked and as you suggest, forcing cold up the hot is the easiest way of clearing it. Do this for ten seconds to ensure all the air is pushed into the header tank.
