Disconnecting the Red Hose From a Washing Machine From the Valve

Post by lindylou30 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 5:41 pm

I am trying to disconnect a washing machine and have found a problem with disconnecting the red hose from the valve which has a red plastic lever. I cannot turn the valve lever to shut it off because it is too close to the pipe. Can anyone help me please?

Take half a turn on the union connecting to the supply and rotate the valve until you can turn it off. Make sure to retighten the union once you are done. There should be little or no mess from leakage. I have done this on occasion and it has worked for me. Hope this helps

Which pipe are you referring to - the washing machine flexible pipe or the cold water copper pipe?
