Distances from other houses

I have a quick question.
If I own a plot of land with the house in the middle and decided to knock this down and develop the land is there any restrictions on how close I can build to the house around the plot
e.g houses opposite is there a minimum distance they must be apart

Talk to the planning dept of your local council Mark, there may be restrictions in your area depending on Green belt staus and other conditions.
