DIY Electrics - Rules and Regs

by mattyy » Thu Jul 05, 2007 3:49 pm

Hi,
I am in the process of selling my house. The buyer have had a full electrical survey done with a couple of minor problems (something to do with the boiler electrics).

Now I was intending to replace all of the dimmer switches with standard rockers and replace a couple of spotlight ceiling fittings with standard pendant fittings. All of these items were fitted by me a number of years ago. Now I know things have changed about what a DIY'er is allowed to do but can I do this without causing problems?

Hi , yes you can change fittings because you are not altering the circuits,
as long as you don't leave wires only! this has been done b4 & is the norm on the continent but won't do here! , regards SPARX
