Does Gable Wall need Fasias

I just had a loft conversaion with a gable wall. The builders have not put fasias on the gable wall. Does it need it or not. Please help.

In some cases its not needed,there should be a overhang from the gable of at least 50mm with the tiles bedded on a mortar fillet.
