Driveway

I am having a 40 m2 block paved driveway layed, I am having a 2" BS RMC C30 concrete base layed on compacted dolomite sub-base then marshall driveline 50 paving in brindle with charcoal border.

I have been told it is better to have the concrete base, what are your ideas on this do you think 2" is thick enough, I have been quotated £3580 for this job with some brick walling

Any opinions would be appreciated
