Dual flush cisterns

Thought I was a good DIY er but:- While in hospital a new dual flush toilet was fitted. All I want to know is, : how does one get the top off the cistern. It appears to be connected to the buttons.

Press one button down and with a small screwdriver prise the second button up and out of the assembly. Repeat and remove the second button. Below you will see a plastic screw. Remove and the button assy and lid lift off.
