earth bonding

hi just wondering where the best place is to pick up the earth bonding is it ok from a light socket

Absolutely definitely not!

Earth bonding (assuming a domestic property) must be 10mm cable directly earthed at the consumer unit.

Apart from the huge difference in the cable size if the lighting circuit were to develop a fault, it is conceivable the metal you intend to bond may become live.

What exactly are you bonding?

It would be better to post an electrical question to the electrics forum rather than the plumbing forum.

it was just the pipe work on a sink but will not bother will get somebody in

hi on the assumption the piping is bonded were the mains come into the house you only need to cross bond across the pipes
