Earthing Circuits

by kevinsum » Sat Jun 02, 2007 4:34 pm

We have installed a new consumer unit and the electrician has identified there is no earth on some circuits. I'm a little concerned about this as it does not sound right. Can anyone advise on this topic ?.

Hi if only lighting circuit then regs say ;
as long as noted on the test sheets issued when con. unit changed, provided no metal fittings used on the circuits then OK.
If power circuits in metal conduits then as long as conduits properly earthed at con unit & fly leads bought from metal back boxes to each fitting , agn OK if bond test carried out at each fitting,to prove earth good,
