extensions

We are looking at buying a house that already has a single story extension of 4.88 x 3.66 on a semi-detached house. Do you think we would be able to get future permission to do a roof extension (loft) or will the volume limits get in the way? (The house is a basic 3 bed 1930s house). Thanks!

Hi! theres a lot to consider with extensions and only your local building and planning department can best advise on whats allowed in your area. Have a look at nieghbours houses, have they done what you would like to do?...thats fair indication on if you will be allowed. If your planning an adding a second storey to the current extension???...you may find that the foundations of the current extension arent strong or deep enough to support another floor. Hope this helps.
