Exterior painting job

Hi all, bit of a dilemma!! Got a job to price for exterior painting . The customer wants the wood work (which is flaking off) painted again in gloss a) do i use normal gloss and b)do i go right back (if so wot do u suggest?) to the wood prime and then apply 2 coats?? they also want the exterior walls emulsioned..it is slightly flakey so wot i had planned to do was scrape out worst effected bits with a wirebrush and then paint over the top?? its a wall that has had a couple of coats previously.If anyone can help i would be really grateful thanks...
