extractor fans

hello to all, :D

I have a couple of questions i hope you can answer for me :?

The first question is, when installing a bathroom extractor fan in the ceiling is the ceiling void considered being one of the zones and if so whcih zone would it be zone 2 or zone 3 :?

The second question is, is there a reg about installing a bathroom extractor fan on a wall close to a window or is it just bad practice.

hi, If using an 'in-duct' type of fan then fully out of bathroom zones ie one with 'elephant trunk' flexy duct both sides of fan which is mounted on rafters, my favourite type!
if fitted direct in ceiling then could even be in Zone 1!
don't know of any limitations on position of fans regarding windows only zones, but if fitting any fans in bathroomthen Part P applies to all types except first where no electrics in bathroom at all!!
