Faulty spindle

by apcmoomin » Sun Nov 02, 2008 5:26 pm

The spindle (tap head/body??)in my kitchen tap (modern) appears to be a bit sticky
Sometimes when the tap is turned, the water comes through as normal. Other times, when the tap is turned, the water doesn't come through, and have to turn the tap a little more before the water does come gushing out. The washer looks fine as I replaced this over a year ago.

I took the spindle out and could feel it 'sticking' slightly. Turning action was not always smooth

Question: can replacement spindles be easily purchased or are they specifically designed for each particular model? Or can I pick this apart and fix?

Or do I need to buy a new Kitchen Mixer Tap set?
