Fire door required for kitchen?

by gladtobegrey » Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:53 am

I am doing some decorating and refurbishment to my 1960 house. I want to replace the original plain hardboard panelled door from the kitchen to the hall with a 10-pane glazed door to match the other doors off the hall (and to let more light into the kitchen).

The existing (original) door is not a fire door. Do I need to replace with a fire door, or can I simply match the existing doors as planned?

Thanks

it is not required by building regs to have a fire door in a domestic property, but if you want piece of mind fit one anyway.
