fire doors and frames

by katiesdad » Sat Nov 21, 2009 5:59 pm

As I understand the b.regs a minimum of 20min fire doors should be fitted on all doors that lead onto a fire escape route. ie new loft conversion, and existing habitable rooms on landing that lead downstairs to front door.
Does this mean that I have to rip out the existing frames, or can I fit new 25mm thick stops only. The existing doors will be replaced anyway.
I know its a bit of a tekky question, but it will save a lot of work and mess!!
Thanks

Ask BC as if you are converting space, they have the final say.
