fire escape from basements

Postby davehill83 » Fri Oct 05, 2007 11:26 pm

I'm planning to convert a basement into a bedroom/additional living space. I know I need to provide a second exit for fire escape (no suitable windows or doors). Can this be by means of a fixed ladder or does it need to be a full blown staircase to comply with building regs?

Thanks, Dave
