Fit Radiator or Tile first?

by Heeber » Fri Feb 22, 2008 12:32 pm

Hi folks,

redoing bathroom and am planning on replacing the existing radiator with a heated towel-rail type (will match BTU, etc).

I've never mounted one of these before, so (apart from the pipework to valves), is it better to fully tile the walls, then drill & mount the radiator - or should I mount the radiator first and tile around.

Many thanks,
Heeb

Tile first. Much neeter apperance. Less fiddly.

It's best to tile first then fit towel rail later.

If it's a ladder type towel rail, you will be able to see the tiles behind - if there's all little cuts and patched bits around the brackets etc - it wont look very good.
