fitting a velux window

hello there i live in a mid terrece house in northamotonshire and want to use thw loft space as an office and would like to fit a velux window do i need planing permision or building regs.

If you are not in a conservation area, area of article 4 directive or any other planning control, and are not listed, then the installation of a velux roof light will not require planning consent.

You will require building regulations approval for the window, but also the entire loft conversion. You best bet would be to seek advice from a Chartered Building Surveyor.
