fitting an electric timer to unvented hot water boiler

by freshflyingfish » Mon Jul 09, 2007 10:09 pm

Just moved in to our new flat which is fitted with a Megaflo D125 unvented water heater. Its currently wired into its own switch, but I'd like to fit a timer so that we can take advantage of off peak electricity. Can anyone recommend one I should buy that is easy to fit and use? Is it simply a matter of imitating the way the unit is wired into the switch?

Hi If you have a DD125 L HE according to the makers website it uses 2 X 3kW elements = if so then load is 26.0A so normal time switch won't do you would need a contactor as well (see other posts on here abt. contactors),regards SPARX
