Fitting Beading on Double Glazing
I have successfully fitted a new double glazing unit, but when it comes to glazing I am finding it extremely difficult to refit the beading. Is there a knack to this that I'm missing?
They are all different!
There is usually a small lip recessed on the back, make sure this lines up with the groove inside the window, start with the corner first at the bottom, push it in tight, line the whole bead up also then givr it a wallop with a plastic mallet, generally you need to diagonally but slightly left to right as if going across the glass and not against it.
Put smaller beads in first as the longer ones are easier to bend, as I usually bend the bead so both corners are tucked inside the smaller beads then hit it in while holding it in line with my other hand. I guess thereis a knack to it, lol.
