Fitting Internal French Doors

Hi Everbody Hope you can help. I am in the process of fitting Internal French Doors with Demi Panels to either side. These Doors are 40mm thick and the Demi Panels are 35mm thick. My question is can the Doors be hinged directly to the Demi Panel or do I require to fit supports between the two? Would appreciate any help. many thanks wylliejohn
