Fitting new skirting....

by dtharby » Sun Sep 07, 2008 9:26 am

Hi All,

Have removed the old skirting as it was damaged by the previous owner but the wall behind it is not looking too good - some of the cement/brick covering has crumbled away

Is there anything I should first before putting new skirting on.

Plasterer is coming tomorrow to make the walls and ceiling good.

Any advice appreciated.....

Cheers
Dan

Do you mean a few of the bricks have crumbly mortar, or something else?

Whatever the level of damage, it MIGHT indicate a deeper problem - damp in the walls can cause very old house bricks to crumble, for example - and if so, get that sorted before covering it all up again.

Can u post a photo?
