fitting new sockets

I have fitted new chrome sockets in a lounge and needed to remove one of them. When i tried this one of the securing screws will not come out and just turns and turns whatever i try . Any suggestions for removing it ??

You may have success if you try pulling the faceplate away from the wall, if the screw's not engaging it may just pull away, otherwise try pulling and turning the screw at the same time. If you need to put anything behind the socket to pull it then make sure it's insulated. I assume you've already issolated the circuit but are you sure there are no other potentially live wires behind the socket?
