Fixing curtain to wall with electric wires

The wall to which I need to attach a curtain rail has electric wires behind it. I'm going to try the gripfil route, however, I can't hammer nails into the wall to keep the wood flush. Any ideas? Also, the curtain is a door curtain and therefore very heavy. Will gripfil hold it?
