Fixing plasterboard over single brick wall in garage

by steve23 » Sun Jul 24, 2016 10:00 am

Hi all,

I have a garage at the bottom of my garden. It's single brick walls, but one side connects to another garage and the other side to an enclosed car port, so only rear wall and front up and over door really face the elements.

I dont want to live in there or anything, just make the place nicer so im not looking at brick and spiders webs when im pottering around down there !

To this end, and i apologise in advance for my ignorance, can i just put plasterboard over the walls ? I was going to put up some wood batons and then attach to them, not that ive done that before but i think i can manage it. Across the door, i was just going to build a false wall, again a simple wood framwork and plasterboard over it (i have a second entrance).

Is there some massive no no why i cant do this ?

Thanks in advance

Steve

No that's fine, so long as there is a gap so damp cannot bridge across, it should be ok.
