fixing plasterboard panels to a ceiling on your own

I thank you for your advice in fitting new plasterboard ceiling panels but was wondering if there is a knack to doing this on your own , since even the smaller panels are weighty.

michael john jacob,
Hire a panel lifter from you local hire shop.

Even humping 8 x 4 x 1/2 on to a lifter on your own can lead
to back problems and worse.

Ideally, you need a mate for the ceiling work.

If this really is impossible, consider the extra time spent
scrimming between smaller sheets well spent if it keeps
you out of ER !

Build a dead mans prop, have working platform you can step up on to so you can handle the board and you can rest the board on your head, have the props at distance you reach and pull them in tight trapping board to joists.
