    Fixing round timber post to garage wall

    What is the best method of fixing a 6" dia round timber post to a wall, for attaching a fence.

    there are self drive bolts that just require a 6mm hole in the wall.
    but I would pre drill and sink the fixing a couple of inches into the post
    and tighten with a socket wrench.
