Floor tiling in a new build appartment

Hi, we are buying a new 3rd floor appartment and we want to self lay a ceramic tile (300mm sq.) floor throughout. The building construction is steel frame with concrete floors (screeded). However, we've been told that we shouldn't tile the floor in this way due to the possibility of settlement and subsequent cracking of the tiles/grout joints.

Is this true? If so, what would your advice be?
