Flooring a Loft - Joist Query

Postby nisbet_a@hotmail.com » Sat Mar 21, 2009 2:08 pm

Hi there I have done a bit of searching and I am not sure about the answer.

I would like to floor my loft, for storage only. Xmas dec, old paperwork, telescope and other bits and bobs.

I have measured my joists they are 2 x 6(vertical edge) and there is a gap of 16" between each joist. Is this adequate for laying flooring on?

Cheers

If you are only going to use the loft for storage then it should be fine.

Have a look at the following link:

I had checked that, just the project info never clarified joist sizes. So I hope these joist will cope :D
