Foil Insulation on walls

Hi all, this is probably a stupid question but please tell me if you know the answer.

I am currently decorating the walls in my main room and am about to wallpaper them. Is it possible to stick foil insulation or even turkey foil on the wall and then wallpaper over them to provide extra insulation or is this impractical ? I know this is recommended to put behind your radiator and I have seen that you can stick it down with a high grade wallpaper paste.
